Before taking English 102, I had a hard time determining whether a source was actually considered reliable or not because we did not spend a lot of time in high school working with reliable sources. Our focus there was just getting sources and making sure they were cited correctly.
There is a fine line between being biased about something and having a point of view. Being biased means that it is nearly all opinion with little to no facts. When you have a point of view, there is usually research done and there are facts to support how you feel about that certain topic. The easiest way to make sure that you are not coming off as biased is looking at both sides of an argument and reviewing the facts that both have presented then making a decision or at least considering the other side of the argument and explaining why that side could be wrong with facts and not opinions.
